What is the difference between the BBox Home and the BBox Pro?
The BBox Home is designed for homes, agricultural businesses, and small business installations. It offers smart meter connection, data collection, and automatic optimization for smaller systems.
Designed for industrial environments, the BBox Pro supports more protocols, process controls, local intelligence and larger numbers of assets.
How does the BBox Home work with BoltEMS?
The BBox Home collects data via the smart meter and connected devices and sends it to BoltEMS. BoltEMS uses this information to automatically determine when charging, discharging, or saving is most advantageous.
Together, they form one smart ecosystem that optimizes your energy use.
What happens if the Internet connection goes down?
The BBox Basic continues to perform basic functions via local data and smart meter information. Once the connection is restored, it automatically synchronizes all data and settings with BoltEMS. No manual action is required.
How many devices can I connect to one BBox Home?
The BBox Home supports up to 16 devices within a single installation, depending on configuration and protocols. These can be batteries, inverters, smart meters, chargers, or sensors that communicate via Modbus, TCP/IP, or APIs.
How are updates and maintenance of the BBox Home carried out?
Updates are performed automatically via OTA (Over-The-Air), without you having to do anything. BoltEMS offers remote monitoring and diagnostics, so any problems can be quickly identified and resolved. The hardware itself is low-maintenance and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty.
